shan: haha yes, plenty have been saying it’s very “Vogue”, and I can see it but I’m not super familiar with early Madonna, so sadly I don’t see it as much
me: well, it’s very steven klein, all of it. and I see less Vogue than I do express yourself or justify my love or erotica. but knowing where all that comes from, it was revolutionary then. for that much symbolism and imagery in videos
musically they are worlds apart, but i just don’t think anyone can deny the doors that madonna has already opened for women in music, for better or worse.
and i think you just take them both for what they are
